Auberge Côté CourWhat is a Youth Hostel?

A Youth Hostel is a meeting place which in order to function, promotes the following values: Sociability, Respect, Tolerance and Openness. Amongst the tasks that define it, the youth hostel encourages interest in different cultures and the meeting of others in order to promote diversity.

The Youth Hostel Bordeaux has been managed by the Association des Centres d’Animation de Quartiers (ACAQB, Association of Bordeaux districts social centers) since its inauguration in 1963. The purpose of the hostel is to offer at the heart of the city accommodation which is distinguished by its unique spirit, where the values and principles of the association, respect, citizenship, and equality grow. The articles of the association state that “any political or religious propaganda is prohibited.”

By choosing to stay at the Hostel, you accept certain rules in order to coexist. The success of each stay is dependant upon compliance with all of these rules: with an attitude of openness and transparency, towards the other occupants at the youth hostel and the taking care of the space and the facilities at your disposal.

Due to the nature of its work a Youth Hostel is subject to certain regulations and rules which we request everyone respect, such as taking care of common areas such as the kitchen and fridge as well as complying with the cleaning hours (between 11:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.) During this time access to the rooms is not permitted. Rooms are accessible from 4pm onwards (A storage room for luggage is available free of charge)
